Xerox is giving away Free Color Printers!

Want a free printer? We did – and here’s how we use ours: First, you should understand that we are a small business, but a good deal of what we produce is printed material. We produce our PCVN video series, and in every VHS tape we release, we include cards and other printed documents. We also print a lot of tests for the JN Productions CPE courses from our sister company, JN Productions, and JN Productions video programs use a lot of printed scripts. In addition, we print a lot of flyers and ads. Given all of that, we end up printing things every day, so the idea of a getting free Tektronix printer from Xerox intrigued us. As always, there’s a catch to get the printer for free: you get all of the black ink you want free as well, but you have to purchase the color ink and print a given number of pages per month. You do this for three years and then keep the printer. If you don’t do a lot of printing, this may not be for you. However, if you find yourself at Kinkos once or twice a week, then this could be a real value. The quality of printing is great. You can have it automatically print on both sides of a sheet, and the printer is fast. However, there are some limitations as well. It will only print up to 8½” x 11”. It will print on card stock, but most card stocks must be inserted into the printer manually. However, we have found that these limitations are not terrible for us, and we have greatly increased our efficiency and reduced our costs by printing virtually everything in house. Xerox is still giving away free printers like ours.
